He was enrolled as an advocate in March 1982 and as an advocate at Lahore High Court in March 1984. He has had the privilege of working as an associate of a renowned advocate namely Dr. Khalid Ranjha (ex-senator) in his early years of practice though in the year 1988 he started his independent practice along with Mr. Shabbar Raza Rizvi (also elevated as the Judge of Lahore High Court). Our esteemed senior partner became a Supreme Court advocate in the year 1996 and the same year he was appointed as an Assistant Advocate General Punjab. 

Later, in 1999, he was elected as a member Punjab Bar Council. 

In 2006, he was elevated as Additional Judge of Lahore High Court and was appointed as Judge of said court in 2007.

He restarted practice in the Supreme Court in 2011, however, he had to pause on that front in 2018 when he was appointed Chairman of the 8th Wage Board for newspaper employees. After ensuring a unanimous award was returned in December 2019 he returned once again to work in making HKLA a success. That is once due permission from the Pakistan Bar Council was granted. 

He has expertise of doing job of arbitration in contesting issues. 

When he isn’t dealing with clients or working to ensure the success of the younger partners that he guides, he is busy teaching at some of the top law institutions in Punjab.

He was enrolled as an advocate in March 2001 and admitted as an advocate in Lahore High Court in March 2003. He has more than two decades of active law experience and has conducted more than 5000 cases and from them, 30 judgments have been reported in different law journals. 

Later he was enrolled as an advocate Supreme Court in the year 2016. Since then, he has successfully handled more than 300 cases at the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Dozens of the judgments of the cases conducted by him stand reported in different law journals of Pakistan. 

He is one of the leading lawyers in the country practicing on the criminal side besides having expertise in conducting service matters.

He was enrolled as an advocate of subordinate courts on 10th February 1977 and enrolled as an advocate of the High Court on 3rd February 1985. Later, he was enrolled as an advocate of the Supreme Court on 30th March 2005. He practiced at Faisalabad from 1977 to 1997. Thereafter, he started practice at Lahore. He was elected as Secretary District Bar Faisalabad for the term 1996-97. He conducts civil as well as criminal cases. He is a staunch supporter of the independence of the judiciary, the rule of law, and the constitution.
